Well Pad & Pipeline Reclamation Monitoring

WestWater biologists have conducted reclamation monitoring for more than 200 well pads, associated access roads, and pipeline alignments annually throughout the Piceance Basin for various oil and gas operators.

Field data and reporting is collected using the methods outlined in The Monitoring Manual for Grassland, Shrubland, and Savanna Ecosystems by J.E Herrick et.al. Data collected is uploaded into the BLM’s DIMA database and an annual report is prepared which includes a summary of the results for each location.

Annual data and reports are submitted to the Bureau of Land Management and Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission to help determine if the location(s) meets the reclamation criteria for Final Abandonment Notice.
