Grand Valley Irrigation Company – Habitat Replacement Plan

WestWater developed a habitat replacement plan for the Grand Valley Irrigation Company to offset wetland/riparian habitat lost as part of GVIC’s Grand Valley Canal lining project.

The plan involved enhancement of reclaimed riparian habitat on land owned by the Bureau of Reclamation adjacent to the Gunnison River by increasing understory canopy cover by opening up overstory canopy to establish a multi-layer shrub canopy in an existing cottonwood gallery.
